Everything about how Nuva handles languages, voice input, and voice output.

Supported Languages

Nuva's AI system supports five core languages. The default language is English. The mobile app UI supports 34 languages, but the AI response system works with these five. You can change your language at any time in settings.

Important

The mobile app UI supports 34 display languages, but the AI response system works with the five core languages above. Kurdish dialect and script rules are strictly enforced by the AI.

How Language Affects AI Responses

When you select a language in Nuva's settings, the AI adapts its behavior:

AI Response Language

The AI always responds in the same language as your last message. A language instruction is also injected based on your settings to enforce strict language compliance.

Kurdish Dialect Rules

For Kurdish, the AI always defaults to Sorani (Central Kurdish) with Arabic-based letters (RTL). It will NOT use Latin letters for Kurdish unless you explicitly request it. Badini/Kurmanji is only used if you explicitly say “badini” or “kurmanji” — and even then defaults to Arabic script unless you specifically ask for Latin.

UI Language

On the web app, UI supports English, Arabic, and Kurdish Sorani. The mobile app supports 34 languages including brand name transliterations for non-Latin scripts.

Chat History

Previous messages remain in the language they were sent in. Changing the language only affects new messages.

Voice Input

Nuva lets you speak instead of type. Voice recordings are processed instantly by Nuva's AI.

How to use voice input

Tap the microphone button in the chat input area (appears when no text is typed). Speak clearly. Your voice is recorded and sent directly to Nuva's AI for processing.

Processing

Your voice is processed by Nuva's AI, which understands the speech and generates a text response. Audio is NOT permanently stored — it is processed securely and discarded.

Recording limit

Voice recordings have a 2-minute safety cap. For longer messages, you can record multiple times.

Requirements

Voice recording requires microphone permission on your device. Make sure to grant Nuva microphone access when prompted.

Voice Output

Nuva can read AI responses aloud using text-to-speech technology.

How it works

After receiving an AI response, you can tap the speaker icon to hear it read aloud. The speech follows the language of the response.

Language consistency

Voice output matches the language of the AI response. If the AI replied in Arabic, the voice output will be in Arabic.

How to Change Your Language

Step 1

Open Nuva and go to Settings.

Step 2

Tap Language and select from the five available options.

Step 3

The app will immediately update. All new AI responses and voice interactions will use your new language.
